At 8:47 AM on June 16, train D909 from Beijingxi Railway Station smoothly arrived at Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station. This marked the completion of the journey for the four high-speed sleeper trains that departed the previous day between Beijing-Hong Kong and Shanghai-Hong Kong, achieving overnight service. The travel times from Beijing and Shanghai to Hong Kong have been significantly reduced from 24 hours and 31 minutes and 19 hours and 34 minutes, respectively for the original normal-speed direct railways, to 12 hours and 34 minutes and 11 hours and 14 minutes each. This tighter integration further strengthens the connection between Hong Kong, known as the "Pearl of the Orient", and the mainland of China.

Currently, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Railway has become a vital link and a golden gateway for connecting Hong Kong with the mainland. In the first five months of this year alone, it has served 10.777 million cross-boundary passengers, marking a 79.3% increase year on year. Over 7 million Hong Kong residents and mainland Chinese are benefiting from the dividends of China's high speed rail development, bringing hearts closer together.

At Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station's customs inspection area, both self-service and manual channels operate smoothly, with each person needing only a few minutes to complete the co-location arrangement procedures for exiting Hong Kong. The station's convenient location, situated just on the opposite side of the Victoria Harbour, is approximately 2 kilometers away from the original Hung Hom Railway Station of the former normal-speed direct service. This allows passengers to quickly reach iconic locations such as Tsim Sha Tsui, the Central District, and Causeway Bay.
