On July 24, the "Guangdong-Yunnan Lancang-Mekong Line" international freight train, loaded with tropical fruits like Thai durians and mangosteens and Laotian cassava flour, and the "China-Laos-Thailand International Freight Train (Kunming-Bangkok)" loaded with furniture, kitchenware and asbestos products, simultaneously departed from Wangjiayingxi Railway Station in Kunming, Yunnan Province, heading towards Guangzhou, China, Vientiane, Laos, and Bangkok, Thailand. This marks the official launch of the "Guangdong-Yunnan Lancang-Mekong Line" international freight train and the China-Laos-Thailand international freight train, establishing a new international freight corridor connecting Guangdong, Yunnan, and Southeast Asia.

It is understood that the launch of this train service will further enhance the "golden route" effect of the China-Laos Railway. Since its opening, the China-Laos Railway has transported over 41.6 million tons of goods, with cross-border cargo exceeding 9.8 million tons. The average daily operation of international freight trains on the China-Laos Railway reaches 18 trains, making it a vital link between China and Southeast Asia.

In the future, with the launch of the "Guangdong-Yunnan Lancang-Mekong Line" international freight train and the China-Laos-Thailand international freight train, the China-Laos Railway will connect northwards with China's railway network, reaching logistics hubs such as Kunming, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Xi'an, Chengdu and Chongqing, and further connecting to Europe through the CRE train, reaching countries as far as Germany and Spain. Southwards, it will connect with Thailand's meter-gauge railway network, reaching southern ports and extending to Malaysia and Singapore, jointly promoting regional economic prosperity and development.
