The Upgrading and Expansion Project of the CRE Train Fast Corridor Launched

    Science and Technology Daily (By Li Liyun and Zhu Hong) - On May 23, machines roared at the construction site of the Harbin-Suifenhe Railway in Suifenhe City, Heilongjiang Province, and the Suifenhe-Border Line reconstruction project of the Harbin-Suifenhe Railway officially started construction, which kicked off the expansion and reconstruction of the rear channels of the Suifenhe, Manzhouli and Tongjiang railway ports of the "East Corridor" of CRE trains this year.

  According to CR-Harbin, the Harbin-Suifenhe Railway starts from Harbin City and ends at the Sino-Russian border city of Suifenhe City. It has a history of 100 years. Suifenhe City is located in the center of the Northeast Asian Economic Circle. It is the largest railway transportation corridor to Russia in Heilongjiang Province and an important port of passage for the "East Corridor" of China's CRE trains. The annual cargo volume delivered by railway ports exceeds 10 million tons, the annual traffic volume of CRE trains is close to 900 trains, and the cargo volume transported reaches 88,000 TEUs.

  The renovated Suifenhe-Border Line project of the Harbin-Suifenhe Railway is located in Suifenhe City. The existing line in the eastern section of the railway has a large slope and a small curve radius, and the train runs at a speed of only 55 kilometers per hour. After the renovation, the designed speed of the line will reach 120 kilometers per hour, and the line passing capacity will more than double.
